Hey Yinz Guys:

The San Diego (I mean Los Angeles) Chargers come to tahn in a huge game that could impact the playoff race in the AFC. This game brings in two of the quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. The Chargers are led by quarterback Phillip Rivers, who coincidentally has more kids than playoff wins.  They are coming off a 45-10 win over the Cardinals.

The Stillers will look to right the ship and silence some of the whispers that they are in a slide against the Chargers.  The Black and Gold look to rebound from the disappointing 24-17 loss on the road at Denver in a game that the Steelers had a chance to tie in the final minute, but an errant interception sealed the defeat. When half of your touchdowns come from your kicker it usually is a long day. This is a huge game for the Black and Gold so come on aht and cheer them on!

Q. What Steeler kicker holds the record for the longest field goal at Heinz Field and how long a kick was it?

Do yinz think you know the answer? Well, then write down the answer and drop it in the box as you enter for a chance to win a free appetizer from our friends at McGovern’s.

Or, to make it easier, print the question from the following link, bring it in, and drop off at the table as you enter:

Meet the Stillers:

Vance McDonald/Tight End/# 89/6th Year/Rice

Vance McDonald is in second season with the Stillers.  Originally drafted by the 49ers in the second round (#55 overall) in the 2013 draft and was acquired by the Steelers at the start of last season along with a fifth-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-round pick.  In his brief time with the Black and Gold he has made some impressive plays, including a forced fumble on a 73-yard block kick return against the Bears last season and his ferocious stiff arm against the Bucs earlier this season.

Against the Jagoffs in the playoffs last year, he became the fifth Steeler in franchise history to have at least ten receptions in a playoff game.  He also set the team playoff game record for receptions (10) and receiving yards (112) for a tight end.

Busy in the off season he has previously visited Haiti teaching healthy eating habits and sustainable agricultural techniques to local farmers.  He and his wife also helped build a church and developed a trade school for young men to learn different skills such as carpentry and welding in Nicaragua.

Stats and Stuff:
The Steelers lead the all-time series against the Chargers 23-9.
